Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Pravize a lawfirm?
No, we are a customer oriented service provider which assigns a customer to a Trademark attorney that understands the needs of our customers to get a Trademark to protect their name(s) and services in the social media, music, digital broadcast, and gaming industry. Pravize does offers services related to Trademark Monitoring and Trademark Infringement that do not have to involve an attorney.
  • Does Pravize give legal advice?
No, we can give general recommendations and provide information about trademarks similar to what anyone can read on the USPTO government website. This is the main reason that we assign your trademark filing to an attorney. That way if you have any questions you will have an attorney that will be able to give you legal advice on your filing and give legal advice during the trademark process.
  • Beware of "Cheap" Online Trademark Services!"
Oh Yes, We are very familiar with Trademark services advertised online for cost that do not seem believable. That is because most of them are just charging you "to just fill out" the trademark application form for you. Most of them also want you to file the trademark yourself as well. This means they took your money and now you are completely on your own and you are the filer of record completely releasing them from any further assistance or accountability for your trademark application. If the USPTO has a question you may need to hire an attorney and this all adds up. The fee they charged to fill out the form ($69 to $ 219) +USPTO fees ($275) +Attorney Fees for assistance ($300 to $2000) so there is really no advantage of discount Trademark services, just super high risk with possible further cost you would have to endure and if you do not follow through then you would have to pay to start the process all over again. The USPTO will not refund your money once you have filed for your trademark, even if it was filled out incorrectly by one of these discount filing companies.
  • Why do I need an attorney to file my trademark?
The simple answer is that the process to get a Trademark can be complicated and having one of our Attorney's file your application will ensure that any questions that may arise as the USPTO reviews the application will be handled by someone who can corespond correctly without putting that burden on our customers.
  • Can I apply for a trademark on my own?
Yes, but even the USPTO website recommends you apply for a trademark through an attorney because of the process and the need for an attorney to answer questions that may arise through the process. Without an attorney you may be required by the USPTO to get legal console involved and that will cost more than if you had an attorney in the process from the beginning.
  • Legal Disclaimer
Pravize has partnered with an attorney to proivide service packages that combine the Pravize provided trademark monitoring services with an independent attorney named Ross Brandborg of Firecastle Law who provides attorney services for Trademarks and filings for our customers. We are very aware that attorneys cannot "Split Fees" with any company or individual. The attorney fees are not marked up in any way to benefit Pravize. The attorney fee was provided by the attorney and is the true cost of his/her services and the USPTO cost are not marked up and are also the true cost set by the United States Patent and Trademark Office of the United States. The Pravize business model research found that just providing a Trademark monitoring service without the opportunity to provide a service for a customer to purchase trademark services and trademark filings was not a good model. So partnering with an attorney and combining our services in different packages would be the best solution. Pravize also offers "RUSH" service which will expedite the process of entering the customers information into our Pravize database ahead of other orders that may have come in first just like any other business. This is a Pravize fee and does not influence or change any of the standard fees of any attorney cost for their services. This fee does not speed up any attorney services, it simply moves the customer up to the next available time that an attorney is available instead of the "first come, first served" standard process.
